Meet Christina

Christina’s personal story has paved the way and informed her professional experience later in life. In her early work, Christina was a classroom teacher which soon evolved into teaching social-emotional-learning lessons. After her master’s degree in clinical psychology, she facilitated support groups for individuals with cancer and care-givers and also led guided visualization and meditation.

Christina then worked as a school counselor after earning her counseling and psychology credentials, for 15 years in both public and private schools, led IEP teams and advocated for supportive services for children with learning differences. She also has extensive experience working directly with children, adolescents and teens, and speaks to parents in local schools on the topic of parenting. As a trained practitioner through Mindful Schools, she continues her practice, training and attends seminars at UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center and Insight LA.

Trained as a facilitator of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Christina provides these workshops to teens through-out the south-bay. As the mother of two young men, Christina is deeply committed to a balanced family life and hopes to share her personal journey and professional experience with you.

My Approach & Values

At the core of my work is creating a balanced life through Mindfulness-Based Life Skills which include raising your awareness, guided practices, self-compassion, and gratitude. Unique to my work is the ability to come to your home. In the event you are unable to come to the office due to a disability or other life circumstance, please do let me know. Please note, this service may not be available in all situations.

Testimonials

Christina Morse has been a great resource for our students at Rolling Hills Prep and Renaissance schools. When we had a sudden loss in our faculty, she was at our school as a grief counselor and many of our students appreciated her calming and gentle presence. She came back again for our 9th grade seminar to do a Mindfulness workshop, where she did a few exercises inside and outside of the classroom. One comment from a student said, “It helped clear our minds and relaxed me before studying.” Christina’s work with our students has been so helpful and valuable by giving them strategies on mindfulness and stress reduction. We will be inviting her again to do more mindfulness workshops with our students.

You could talk to Ms. Christina about anything and everything and exactly how you feel. She is very nice! She helps me with a lot of things, especially things that happened at school and I feel like I could easily just talk to Ms. Christina about everything. She makes me feel very calm. She has really helped me to deal with my dad and mom’s divorce.

Christina presented a mindfulness workshop at the private school I used to work at and it was an amazing event. She took a room full of stressed out parents and professionals (myself included!) and taught us how to breathe and calm our minds. She offers her insights and wisdom in a warm and easily accessible way and gives real action steps to improving your life. I highly recommend bringing Christina into your orbit, whether it's personal or professional. She's a real gem!

Christina Morse is equally at ease in discussion with teens or their parents. Her calm demeanor allows conversation to flow and her use of mindful fullness techniques provide skills for later use.

Our 16 year old son was beginning to shut down and had stopped talking to us. In family therapy, Christina was able to work with us in a way that made everyone feel heard, leading us through difficult conversations while still keeping trust and safety within our family. I recommend Christina for any family that might be struggling through some life transitions.

Mary, Torrance

Christina facilitated a parent education evening focusing on Mindful Parenting. She balanced her presentation with information on mindfulness research, experiential learning and group discussion. Her ability to identify and connect as a parent herself helped out parents to value her experience and expertise.

I was referred to Christina by one of the school parents when I was looking to find a counselor/therapist to help my daughter adjust with my divorce with her father. I needed someone comforting, trusting, and understanding who could connect with my daughter to ease the pain and anxiety for this life event at such a young age. What may have started out as looking for a helping hand for my daughter due to divorce has developed into finding a coach and mentor for my daughter who has extended beyond to teach her how to handle difficult situations, communicate effectively and much more (life skills!). I can’t say enough about Christina and both my daughter and I feel very lucky to have found her and would highly recommend to anyone who is going through all walks of life.

Christina has been a welcome addition to our goal of helping our daughter with social and personal issues - She has a clear understanding of the issues families and children face and has a calm, understanding manner. Her in-home counseling, allows our daughter to feel comfortable while being coached in her own home. Christina has deep knowledge of what children are facing every day in the world.
